Each month we feature someone from the True Health and Fitness team on this blog. This month we interviewed Tony Dahm, personal trainer and Spartan SGX Coach.
Tell us about your history with True Health and Fitness:
I started taking the Spartan SGX class with Kevin in 2015 and quickly fell in love with it. I had always been active as a runner and playing basketball, but Spartan training took me to a whole other level of fitness. I became a certified Spartan SGX coach and personal trainer at the gym in late 2016.
What do you like most about coaching the Spartan SGX class?
I enjoy helping others achieve their goals and watching them do things, like climbing a rope or running a Spartan Race, when they thought they would never be able to do those things.
What is your coaching style?
If you asked my class, they would probably say torture but I want the best out of everyone so I try to be supportive to each of my trainees. Due to my class being an elite level class I have high expectations of my Spartans.
What is your favorite tool for staying motivated?
Always have a goal to strive for. Whether it is placing in a Spartan race or making a PR with lifting, having a goal helps me stay motivated.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with family, work out, and run.
Tony’s Spartan SGX training is on Monday & Wednesday from 6-7pm. A prerequisite to being invited into the Spartan SGX class is to have successfully completed Level 1, 2, and 3 of the TruFit class and to be evaluated by one of our certified Spartan SGX coaches.
